Aegis Gallery, Muindi Foundation Host July 5 Opening Reception
for Inaugural Joint Children’s and Independent Artists’ Exhibit
(San Jose, CA) July 7, 2025 – Aegis Gallery of Fine Art hosts an opening reception for a first of its kind exhibit featuring 11 independent Bay area artists alongside children’s artwork created at a free Kids Art Day with local nonprofit Muindi Foundation in San Jose. The Opening Reception for “Art for All Ages: A Day at the Beach” is Saturday, July 5 from 4-7 pm at Aegis Gallery in Saratoga. The exhibit runs July 2-27 and is free and open to the public.
The Kids Art Day event held in April at Muindi Foundation was designed to expose Bay Area children to the arts and encourage their exploration of art as a way to bolster their creativity, confidence and mental health. Children were guided through making their own art by professional artist and Aegis Gallery President Christine Oliver. Through the exhibit, the children will now have the opportunity to see their creations on display.
“This is a full circle moment for the kids who created art at the free April event,” notes Aegis Gallery President Christine Oliver. “We’re proud to be able to open a door to art and artwork for them that could change their lives forever.”
“With so many schools eliminating art programs for kids, this is an opportunity to open children’s eyes to a whole new area they haven’t been exposed to before,” says Muindi Foundation Co-Founder and Executive Director Serena Muindi. “We’re excited about the partnership with Aegis to enrich children.”
The organizations have tailored the exhibit to be family-friendly to encourage art exposure to more children and the broader community. The exhibit runs through July 27 and is free and open to the public. Aegis Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Sundays from 11 am-7 pm.
