Arcelia Kapoor
Arcelia has been an integral part of the Muindi Foundation since its early beginnings, serving as both a board member and the lead in program planning. She is also one of our full-time volunteers, dedicating countless hours to ensure that every program is thoughtfully designed and successfully executed. Her leadership and devotion are at the heart of our work--our programs simply would not exist without her.
Born in Mexico, Arcelia migrated with her parents and three siblings to Southern California at the age of 15. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Accounting from San Diego State University. In 2004, she relocated to San Jose, California, where she devoted herself to raising her two children--Supna, a graduate of UCLA, and Natasha, currently attending UCSD.
While raising her family, Arcelia poured her energy into community service, volunteering with organizations such as Veterans Affairs and Girl Scouts of Northern California. Her passion for giving back became a family value, inspiring her daughters to serve with organizations including Good Samaritan Hospital, Sacred Heart Community Service, and the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley.
As a dedicated advocate and supporter of the Muindi Foundation's LearnNow programs, Arcelia deeply understands the challenges that many of our children face. Her empathy, insight, and unwavering belief in the power of education make her an extraordinary leader and partner in our mission.
In addition to her service and leadership, Arcelia enjoys reading and collecting books, attending live theater, exploring museums and art galleries, and experiencing fine dining. She also has a lifelong love of animals--especially dogs--and proudly considers herself a devoted dog mom.
Arcelia's journey reflects resilience, generosity, and a deep commitment to community--qualities that make her not only an amazing person but also an invaluable part of the Muindi Foundation family.
