Free "Grab and Go" Meals
in San José
Anyone can pick up a free breakfast or lunch at the following locations, from 9-11am, Monday-Friday, thanks to the city of San José and San José Unified School District.

Baby Supplies
and Resources
FIRST Five of Santa Clara County has a list of Family Resource Centers where Santa Clara County residents can get diapers, baby wipes, formula and other essential items.

Overnight Parking
The Winter Faith Collaborative
and Saratoga’s Prince of Peace Lutheran Church coordinate overnight “safe parking” sites at churches and other locations, including some near De Anza, for individuals or families who are sleeping in their vehicles.

Housing Assistance
West Valley Community Services
West Valley Community Services housing helps homeless individuals and families find long-term housing, through rental assistance and other support services. You can speak with the case manager who comes to campus twice a month with the mobile food pantry or call 408-255-8033.
Bill Wilson Center
Bill Wilson Center operates housing programs and other services that can assist Santa Clara County college students who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County offers numerous programs to help with Emergency Relief, Jobs, Food, Health, Families, Housing, Immigration, Older Adults and People with Disabilities, Refugees and Inmate Support and Reentry.

Jobs and Unemployment
California’s state employment agency has compiled helpful resource articles about state benefits for unemployment, disability and paid family leave.
- If you have questions about labor, unemployment benefits and related legal issues, you can call the hotline established by Working Partnerships, a nonprofit coalition, and the Santa Clara County Office of Labor Standards Enforcement. Support is available in several languages at 866-870-7725.
- Multilingual legal assistance with unemployment, disability or family leave issues is available from the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California by calling 415-484-2209. Help is available in Cantonese, Cebuano, Ilocano, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and Tagalog.
