Come join the Muindi Foundation and pitch in to give back to our homeless community in San Jose by sponsoring, donating and preparing breakfast for the homeless in our community.

All volunteers must complete the online volunteer registration at least 2-days before the event.

Our mission is to bring people and resources together to meet the needs of the underserved in our community, specifically the homeless, houseless and those in risk of becoming so in the Silicon Valley.

Preparing & Serving Breakfast at Homeless Shelter

Donating food for menu and preparing Breakfast at homeless shelter in downtown San Jose.

All volunteers must be over 18 and sign a volunteer registration form the morning of event.

What we need:

  • 5 dozen eggs (Costco)
  • 2 gallons or orange juice
  • 24  Chobini yogurts (Costco)
  • 5   2-packs Applewood bacon (Costco)
  • 4 large packs of strawberries

 

What we do on the day of:

  • Bring the food we bought to the shelter to prepare meal.
  • Arrive no later than 6:45 am Saturday to receive a cooking/prep assignment.
  • Prepare and serve breakfast for approximately 25 - 50 people.
  • Clean up kitchen and dining hall.
  • If you are late (arrive after 6:45 am) there may not be anything for you to do.

  • Scrambled Eggs
  • Bacon
  • Sausage
  • Country potatoes
  • Fresh Berries/fruit
  • Yogurt
  • Waffles
  • Whip cream and Syrup
  • Orange Juice
  • Coffee
