Early Education Intervention
We believe that we can empower homeless and low-income children to change the trajectory of their lives through educational success.
Children experiencing homelessness or extreme poverty often lack the support and resources needed to excel in school. A national study released in 2021 shows that students who do not read proficiently by third grade are four times more likely to leave high school without a diploma than proficient readers. If a child is not a proficient reader when they begin fourth grade, as much as half of the curriculum they will be taught will be incomprehensible.
With this in mind, our tutoring and mentorship programs are free for qualified elementary aged children and focus on building competencies in reading, writing and math. Our programs support academic success during the school year, prevent summer learning loss, and provide basic need support services such as healthy food and safe supervision.
Above all else, our students receive personal mentorship from adults who care about their success and are empowered to have a motivated and positive mindset.
2023 Summer Learning Now Program:
Our FREE Summer Learning Now Program works with low-income children entering into K – 5th grades that need additional help during the Summer. In our program your child can participate in small-group learning and hands-on projects focused on math, reading, writing, language arts, and art. Our program provides an opportunity for your child to be creative, think out of the box and learn in a fun and safe environment while receiving the extra attention they need from positive and supportive adults.
The Summer Learning Now program also includes lunch, afternoon snack and other fun activities such as – Lego’s, puzzles, music appreciation, art projects and self-esteem building activities.
